Individual Therapy
For individual therapy you will work one to one with your therapist to uncover and heal issues impacting your day to day living.
The first step would be to do an initial assessment to understand what the main problem is and then the therapist will tailor your therapeutic journey around that. For example if you are experiencing anxiety the therapist will use worry management to help you overcome your anxiety
* Session can be between 35 to 60 minutes long depending on your needs.
* It typically takes up to 4 to 6 session to start seeing results
1. Cognitive Restructuring: This is where we focus on challenging your negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. The therapist will help you understand why the negative thoughts keep popping up and how to overcome them with specialized tools.
2. Worry Management: This is where the client faces their main worries and stresses and begins to categorize them. By challenging yourself you will see the worries hold no validity. Along with these tools relaxation and meditation tools are learnt.
3. Behavioural Activation: focuses on positive and enjoyable activities to enhance one mood. By specifically assigning activities during the week and working through the challenges that are preventing you from completing them this approach is a more active one that has a positive impact on mood once tasks are completed.
4. Exposure therapy: in a gentle and calming environment you are exposed gradually to the stressor or anxiety source, which out causing any danger. By doing this it helps you to overcome your anxiety or phobia.
5. Sleep hygiene: poor sleep can be the basis for many mental health disorders by getting into a good sleep pattern and discovering what is preventing or hindering your sleep can impact your day to day living dramatically.
6. Anger Management: work life and life stress can lead to bursts of anger. When it becomes harder to handle our therapist will provide you with tools and insight to manage and control your anger. Also anger is a physical reaction that covers our true feelings. By delving into ourselves and uncovering what we really think and feel enables us to reduce our anger.
7. Counselling: if counselling is what you are looking for bereavement or just someone to talk to our therapist is an empathetic and a good active listener. From life stress to family situations or loss our therapist is equipped to help in any situation.
8. Group Therapy: we run webinars for depression and anxiety, so if you don;t want to be alone in your healing journey we offer confidential groups with individuals going through similar things. The benefits of group therapy is that it gives you a community that supports you and a safe place to reflect and discuss among others. The therapist takes the group on their mental health journey together and provides you with tools to use practice in your everyday life.
9. Couples Therapy: our therapist will guide and help couples solve their problem and teach them to communicate and problem solve together. If it’s a problem between your partner or family member the therapist will go through a series of expertises to build trust and develop communication skills.
